In this article, we spotlight nine women in tech who are pushing boundaries in the Ghanaian tech ecosystem.
Miishe Addy (Jetstream Africa)
Miishe Addy is its co-founder and CEO Jetstream Africaa logistics technology company providing digital freight forwarding, trade finance and cargo tracking tools for businesses in Africa.
She led her company to raise $13 million in equity and debt funding before Series A in 2023 and just recently, launched Jetvision AI, an AI-powered feature for their logistics platform.
Valerie Labi (Wahu Mobility)
Valerie Lambie is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and social innovator who is the co-founder and CEO of Wahu Mobility (officially Mana Mobility), a start-up building affordable and connected electric vehicles for Africa.
He was a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders.
Wahu Mobility recently launched a local factory for the local assembly of electric bicycles in Ghana.
Awura Abena Agyemang (Wear Ghana)
Awura Abena Agyemang is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and fashion designer who is its co-founder and CEO Wear Ghana, a clothing brand that promotes Ghanaian culture and heritage through contemporary designs.
She is the 2021 Mandela Washington and received the Fashion Personality of the Year 2020 award from the Glitz Style Awards.
Carmelle Cadet (EMTECH)
Carmelle Cadet is its founder and CEO EMTECHa financial technology company that works with central banks to build comprehensive and resilient digital cash infrastructure using blockchain technology.
Although she is Haitian-American, she and EMTECH were instrumental in helping the Central Bank of Ghana with its regulatory sandbox as well as its digital currency, E-Cedi.
Cecilia Afutu (Konzoom)
Cecilia Aftertou is its co-founder and CEO Konzooma company that provides a seamless and efficient grocery shopping experience by processing, fulfilling and delivering all orders within 60 minutes.
Jessie Abugre and Nana Adwoa Amponsah-Mensah (Zuputo)
Jesse Abougre is the co-founder and CEO of Zuputo and Nana Adwoa Amponsah-Mensah is its co-founder and COO Zuputo.
Zuputo is Africa’s first female-led legal technology company and has been recognized as a pioneer in the legal industry. It offers a web application that allows users to create contracts, register IP, incorporate companies and connect with legal professionals.
Zuputo’s mission is to make legal services more affordable, accessible and user-friendly for African businesses and individuals.
Valentina Giacobbe (Enroute 54)
Valentina Giacobbe is a Ghanaian travel and sustainability entrepreneur who is its co-founder and managing partner Route 54a company that offers curated travel experiences and cultural immersion in Ghana and other African countries.
He has an MA in Sustainability and Innovation Management from the University of Westminster and a BA in Tourism Management from Bournemouth University.
Rashida Musa (rAIma)
Rashida Musa is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and AI integration expert who works with various organizations to optimize their processes using AI tools.
He studied International Business at the University of Alberta in Canada. Established $hida $ellsan e-commerce consulting firm that used predictive analytics to select products on Amazon.
She returned to Ghana and became an expert in the integration of artificial intelligence, working with various clients.
