The partnership will explore the use of S-band for satellite services to expand MTN’s wireless service portfolio in its markets.

Under the agreement, Omnispace will develop a mobile and IoT network, based on next-generation standards, designed to serve MTN’s markets. In the interim, the companies will work together to test existing technology, demonstrate capabilities and use cases Omnispace satellites in orbit.
Digging deeper
The companies will explore the integration of MTN’s terrestrial mobile networks with the Omnispace Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN), leveraging 3GPP standards, to serve consumer mobile and business IoT services.
