Media personality and musician Black Rasta
Prominent media personality and musician Black Rasta questioned why comedian Funny Face, who is known to have struggled with mental health issues, was allowed to use his driver’s license.
He claimed the state had failed the public’s expectations by not ensuring that the comedian had fully recovered from his mental health problems before allowing him to use his driver’s license.
He pointed out that if the victims involved in the accident were related to ministers of state or other government officials, Ghanaians would have taken mental health seriously, adding that what happened in the Funny Face accident is a national concern. He added that it was his responsibility.
Speaking on 3FM’s Urban Blend program monitored by Ghanaweb, Black Rasta advised the public to take their mental health seriously so as not to put their lives at risk.
“Our country has betrayed its people again. It hurts me because we don’t take mental health seriously. Funny Face roams free wherever he goes. What should we have done, brother, if we found out he had a mental illness?
“When we found out Funny Face had mental problems, the first thing we could do was take away his driver’s license and take him to a mental hospital. Did they recommend revoking his driver’s license? We failed young children involved in accidents. We failed Funny Face herself. ” he said.
