The USGA announced that former LPGA Tour player Tiffany Joh will serve as coach for the first US Junior National Team under coach Chris Zambri. The news was announced last week.
“This opportunity is huge,” Jo said of her new position with the USGA. βI think whether you’re playing or coaching, your ultimate goal is to make some impact in golf and do whatever you can to grow the game. Plus, learning from (Coach) Zambri is an incredible opportunity for me. I’ve always been a big fan of him and his coaching, and I’m excited to pick his brain and learn from him.”
Jo retired from professional golf at the end of the 2021 season and has been the head coach for the University of Southern California women’s golf team since 2022, a position she will leave at the end of the 2024 season to take up her new role with the USGA . During her tenure as an active member of the LPGA Tour, Joh recorded six career top-10 finishes and earned $1,495,625 in career earnings.
After spending three seasons coaching the rising stars of the game at USC, Jo is looking forward to another opportunity to shape the next generation of golfers, something she has proven quite talented at during her time with the Trojans and something she will strive to US National Team to complete it in its first iteration.
“I hope it makes a big impact, and I think it will,” Joh said. βJust from the conversations I’ve had with Heather Daly Donofrio and Coach Zambri, there’s so much energy and excitement from this crew at USNDP, and I’m really excited to get started. I think a big part of it is because I was so lucky to have so many great mentors and coaches who shaped me as a person. In retrospect, I think my favorite part of playing on Tour has been the relationships I’ve built, and I’m so grateful to be in a role where I can continue to do that.”
