Ghanaian gospel singer Eric Oduro popularly known as Erico has opened up about the painful circumstances that led to his divorce from his ex-wife.
According to Erico, the marriage suffered and fell apart due to issues of breach of trust and infidelity.
In one interview with Emelia Brobbey on Adom TV’s Okukuseku show, hit maker Twen Nyame revealed that his then wife sent private photos to her lover in Dubai.
He revealed that their marital issues started after he concocted a story that they only had five months to live, aiming to test his wife’s faith.

The Winner of Mentor 3 he said he had been diagnosed with a kidney problem and had been assured a six-month window for recovery, but told his wife he had been given five months to live.
“At first, my wife seemed supportive, but her actions took a drastic turn over time,” Erico recounted.
His confidence was shattered one fateful night when he pretended to be asleep, only to overhear the sound of a camera clicking. As soon as he opened his eyes, he was shocked to see his wife naked, sending candid photos to her lover in Dubai.
“I was in bed pretending to be asleep and I heard the camera clicking several times. At first, I thought she was taking pictures of me. However, when I turned around, I realized she was naked and was sending the pictures to a man in Dubai she was talking to on the phone I heard him tell him that if he ‘lusted her pictures,’ he should wait until he met her in bed,” she explained.

Erico revealed that what hurt him the most was hearing his ex-wife assure her lover in Dubai that she would marry him as soon as she was widowed, as she thought Erico only had a few months to live.
After confronting her about the incident, Erico decided to prioritize his health and left their matrimonial home and their marriage, moving back to Kumasi the next morning.
Erico laments mismanagement after Mentor wins
Meanwhile, Erico recently lamented the poor management practices of TV3 Mentor organizers that cost him his career.
In an interview on Nana Ama McBrown’s show, he said reality TV pushed him into the limelight too early without long-term structures.
Erico added that organizers did not follow up to ensure his appointed producers did the right thing.
