- No end heard of online drama between Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo and Nigerian designer Ezinne Olivia
- Ezinne made a dress for Nana at the AMVCA, but the movie star didn’t get tagged in her Instagram glam squad
- This upset Ezinne, who made a series of posts to give herself credit for a job well done at the awards event
Nigerian fashion designer Ezinne Olivia is at loggerheads with Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo over her refusal to give her credit for the creative white dress she made for her.
The movie star tagged the people who created her beautiful look at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) on May 11 but left out Ezinne.
From her side, Ezinne posted video of her working on the dress on Nana’s body, stating that she designed it. However, the structure of the dress was imported from China while Ezinne was making the corset and mesh.

She was told to choose between a label and payment, but she chose to be paid and still begged to be endorsed with a label since it was her first AMVCA dress.
Another Ghanaian stylist, Yoli Koomson, was tagged the joband caused an uproar on the internet.
Some people asked that the role interpreter should have tagged Ezinne for her efforts like she tagged others. Others opined that if the bargain was to be paid N400,000 without a tag, then she didn’t deserve a tag.

“What do you expect from someone who wears a ‘double face’? To be fair and honest?”
@attih_soul:
“So, because I paid, I have to sit back and watch someone else take credit for my hard work? Either you tag the real designer or you don’t tag anyone at all. People who scream entitlement are just as miserable as the perpetrator.”
@amazingdoyin:
“I feel like ₦400,000 was a cheap fee to not be tagged in a dress that was worn at such a big event like AMVCA. The point here is that someone else tagged as if they were the ones who made it. It’s totally infuriating for the designer. Wisdom is the key.”
@naija_rich_kids:
“For nothing how? Agreement kept. Yes or no?”
@makeoverbyteju:
“It pains me to say she tagged a Ghanaian designer Yoli and she didn’t post an edit video for the page. Ahana people! I’m sad!”
@adambaise02:
“How about you don’t tag me and give someone else credit for my work?”

@wanda_monye:
“I can see this world thinking this is good promotion for the designer. Let her wait and see how celebrities shun her like the plague for this embarrassment she’s causing her client. Smh.”
@sabiigirlfashion:
“Is there anything wrong with giving credit and paying for a job well done?”
@miz_philz:
“Yes, she made her choice. However, it won’t cost anything to tag and support a growing brand. Let’s be honest, this dress should have been at least 1.5 million!”
