The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) announced that Nigeria will host the Gulf IT Exhibition (GITEX) in 2025.

Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwaand Trixie LohMirmandthe Executive Vice President of Event Management, Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Memorandum of Cooperation, in Marrakesh, Morocco, during GITEX Africa in Morocco.
Hosting GITEX in Nigeria is expected to energize critical sectors such as healthcare, agriculture and technology, creating a platform to showcase Nigerian innovations on a global scale.
It is a move that promises to explore the country’s potential in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, digital health and Fintech, and provide unprecedented opportunities for Nigerian startups to export their technology and ideas to new markets.

“This strategic initiative is aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to reform the economy to achieve sustainable development. Through initiatives like GITEX Nigeria, we are creating platforms for our tech ecosystem to shine, proving that Nigeria is not only open for business, but also a hub of innovation and creativity“, Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa he said.
Trixie LohMirmandthe Executive Vice President in Events Management expressed her excitement for the partnership citing the impressive track record of Nigerian teams in GITEX field matches.
“By bringing GITEX to Nigeria, we aim to explore the country’s potential in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, digital health and Fintech.
“The initiative aims to not only showcase local developments but also integrate the Nigerian tech scene with the wider GITEX network, providing Nigerian startups with a platform to connect with new markets,” he said.
A specific date for GITEX Nigeria 2025 is yet to be announced.
