Legendary foodsa food start-up from Ghana came in second place in the just completed FoodTech World Cup where applications pitched their solutions to address challenges in the food system.

In the competition, 9 start-ups representing all regions came together to participate in the Lausanne final at this year’s HackSummit.
Legendary Foods unveiled its solution that uses advanced insect farming to deliver meat nutrition at the price and sustainability of plants.
The company presented its solution as an opportunity for expansion while addressing waste and circularity through its breeding process.
The company lost out to the eventual winner Foreverland Food from Italy, which provides sustainable alternatives to unsustainable foods such as chocolate by developing a cocoa-free chocolate that tastes like chocolate but is better for both people and the planet.
