Financial analyst, Joe Jackson, on November 28, 2021, described Ghana as a broken country.
He therefore asked Ghanaians to brace themselves for tough economic times.
“For anyone who thinks life is going to be easy, it’s going to be a tough time. Ghana is so broken, the government needs to curb the luxury lifestyle because it’s not sending the right messages and right now, the right perception needs to be created from the government’s actions,” he warned.

A financial analyst, Joe Jackson, said the government must show commitment to fight corruption and identify leakages and waste that are causing the country to lose revenue.
Speaking to Sunrise Morning host on 3fm 92.7 Alfred Ocansey, Joe Jackson warned that the government is broken and needs money, but this should not keep adding to the difficulties and burden of Ghana’s “Right Now”.
Mr Jackson believes the government should focus on making borrowing “as painless as possible”.
“For anyone who thinks life is going to be easy, it’s going to be a tough time. Ghana is so broken, the government needs to curb the luxury lifestyle because it is not sending the right signals and right now, the right perception needs to be created by the actions of the government,” he warned.
On corruption, Joe Jackson says that corrupt officials should be punished to act as a deterrent to other officials who intend to misuse government resources for personal gain.
“Corruption and waste in government must be something that government must show the will and commitment to address, otherwise there is no point in government going back to us to pay more taxes.
“Look, we are burdened with rising taxes and all we see is a lack of commitment to reduce waste in the system, this cannot continue,” he said.
He argued that Ghana should continue to borrow to keep the economy afloat and that borrowing should be offset by tax revenue.
