Ghanaian chef Ebenezer Smith was reportedly arrested by men in police uniform in the middle of announcing his Guinness World Record.
Chef Smith held a press conference at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, to reveal that Guinness World Records (GWR) had approved his largest marathon cooking attempt.
GWR has yet to confirm whether it has indeed beaten Irish chef Alan Fisher’s record. However, later reports indicated that the press conference ended abruptly after being interrupted by some uniformed officers.

ONE Hitz FM Journalist who was present at the press conference indicated that Chef Smith had to rush out of the room after being told that the police were looking.
According to his account, the men in uniform, including soldiers, stormed the conference venue on the orders of Hiplife artiste Nana Boroo, who arrived with them.
The Aha Aye De singer, who claimed to have a management contract with Chef Smith, was reportedly disappointed that the chef had left for another manager, thus breaching their contract.
In the midst of the confusion that ensued, Chef Smith reportedly managed to escape, but the journalist who recounted the incident did not escape the wrath of the soldiers. One of them forcibly took his phone and deleted a video he had taken before another slapped him on the back of the head.
