African Brands, dedicated to promoting and supporting brand development across the continent, will recognize the contribution of fintech companies to financial inclusion on the continent at the fifth edition of the Africa FinTech Conference.
The event, themed “Harnessing the Power of Fintech to Accelerate Financial Inclusion in Emerging Markets”, is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2024, in Lagos.
The organizers of the event, in a statement, noted that the African Fintech space had seen growth over the past decade, noting that there are currently 1400 active fintech brands across the continent.
“Key drivers of growth in the fintech ecosystem include favorable demographics, high level of access to mobile phones and Africa’s generally poor level of financial inclusion on the Internet.
“Over the past 15 years, Africa’s development prospects have improved significantly with the growth of digital technology, driven primarily by the fintech revolution. It is in this context that the African Fintech Conference 2024 was created to continue to share more knowledge on the progress of Africa’s fintech revolution,” said African Brands.
According to the organization, the conference will bring together senior representatives from banks, government, investors, FIS, card providers, payment service platforms, blockchain executives and solution providers to find solutions to the industry’s key challenges and opportunities.
He added that the summit would hold an award ceremony to honor outstanding fintech brands that had done extremely well in terms of their deliverables.
“AFTC is built on the idea that Fintech can unleash unprecedented economic growth in Africa, but it needs more of a collaborative ecosystem for stakeholders,” the organizers noted.
