This Friday, November 3, the world’s largest martial arts organization will return to Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for an exciting fight card broadcast live in the US to more than 190 countries worldwide.
ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video culminates in a massive World Champion vs. World Champion matchup, features a historic World Title co-main event and features a lineup of ONE’s most beloved superstars.
Before the action kicks off in just a few days, we take a closer look at why this lineup is a must-see event for martial arts fans.
#1 History will be written
The main and co-main events of the card will see a pair of names etched into the history books.
In the headline attraction, MMA bantamweight king Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade will square off against Muay Thai bantamweight titleholder Jonathan “The General” Haggerty for the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title.
With one man poised to leave Bangkok as a World Champion in two sports – with both wins coming via stoppage epics – fans can expect an all-out war for the duration of this high-stakes bout.
Before that, the first ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion will be crowned.
This bout will see 20-year-old American BJJ phenom Tye Ruotolo lock horns with decorated Russian veteran Magomed Abdulkadirov in what promises to be a showcase of fast-paced world-class ground fighting.
#2 Two must-see rematches
The rivals will clash in a pair of crucial rematches designed to produce fireworks.
In strawweight MMA action, Filipino star Lito Adiwang aims to avenge his 2022 loss to compatriot Jeremy Miado. That first clash ended prematurely when Adiwang suffered a devastating knee injury, sidelining him for 18 months.
Additionally, Thai knockout artist Sinsamut Klinmee and British scrapper Liam Nolan will go toe-to-toe in a lightweight Muay Thai rematch of their July 2022 fight, where Sinsamut scored an epic knockout to advance to two World title matches.
Since their first meeting, Nolan got back into the win column with a strong performance against Eddie Abasolo and could back up his own World Title challenge if he defeats “Aquaman” this time around.
#3 Khalil Amir aims to remain unbeaten and maintain a top five ranking
Undefeated Turkish standout Halil Amir hopes to continue his march to the top of the MMA lightweight division when he takes on the talented and well-rounded Ahmed Mujtaba.
The 29-year-old Amir has looked nothing short of dominant in his two appearances at ONE, taking on veteran brawlers Timofey Nastyukhin and Maurice Abevi to secure the #4 spot in the talent-laden weight class.
He has all the makings of a future World Champion, but first, he will have to overcome the man known as “Wolverine”.
Mujtaba has become Pakistan’s premier mixed martial artist while displaying ruthless finishing instincts both on the feet and on the mat. On Friday, he hopes to derail Amir’s hype train and steal his spot in the MMA lightweight rankings.
#4 A pair of Kickboxing prodigies are returning
The main event won’t be the only showcase of kickboxing’s elite.
Teenage prodigy Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak will return for her third straight appearance in the sport against Spanish striker Cristina Morales. The 19-year-old pushed former bantamweight kickboxing queen Stamp Fairtex to the limit and followed that up with a dominant performance against Lara Fernandez.
“Supergirl” now hopes to continue her rise to division gold with an impressive outing against three-time World Kickboxing Champion Morales.
In addition, 20-year-old Chinese superstar Zhang Peimian will get another chance to showcase his impressive speed and shocking power when he fights European Kickboxing Champion Rui Botelho.
With a win, the hard-nosed Zhang can punch his ticket to a World Title rematch with kickboxing king Jonathan Di Bella.
#5 Seksan’s US Primetime Debut
Seksan “The Man Who Yields To No One” or Kwanmuang β widely regarded as one of the most entertaining fighters in Muay Thai β will make his highly anticipated US primetime debut this Friday.
Undefeated in six electrifying bouts on the ONE Friday Fights series of events and a four-time Muay Thai World Champion, the 34-year-old Thai is a brawler who knows no backing down.
That mentality, combined with his never-ending pursuit of the knockout, creates the recipe for a white-knuckle barnstormer every time he steps into the ring.
