By Kwesi Pratt Jr., a veteran journalist The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has withered claims that it will definitely unite after internal elections.
The editor-in-chief of Insight Newspaper refuted this claim. Peace FM morning show”Kokurokoo” Intercity STC chief executive Nana Akomea, one of the panel members, expressed confidence that the party would be united after the impending presidential election, despite a series of accusations by some candidates. did.
While Nana Akomea was optimistic that after the election, all the losing candidates would unite behind the winner and unite to push for a common goal, Pratt said that such a bold claim I hardly believe it.
According to him, “The NPP has not always been united after elections.”
He cited examples of some members falling out with the party over unresolved concerns.
He specifically mentioned Paul Afoko, former national chairman of the New Patriotic Party, whom the party suspended indefinitely in 2015.
“Paul Afoko is not the heart of the party. There was no unity. If there was unity, Paul Afoko would have played an important role today. When you’re talking about people in important positions, you say, “He’s not in it because of the same election issue. So it’s not true that we come together and move forward after every election. No. The proof is there.” He said.
