Former University of Ghana Psychology Department Professor Joseph Osafo has commended Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong for peacefully conceding defeat to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party presidential election.
In the New Patriotic Party elections held on Saturday, November 4, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong showed a great performance collecting over 70,000 votes, topping the list of four candidates who hoped to become the standard bearer of the party. He rose to second place.
Although Mr. Kennedy Agyapong could not defeat the Vice President, who was elected as the standard bearer with more than 100,000 votes, considering the fact that the former had made his presidential ambitions clear late in the campaign, he received a lot of votes. received praise.
At the party’s victory rally at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr Ken admitted defeat and vowed to work with Dr Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party to face off against the opposition National Democratic Congress in next year’s general elections.
In view of this, Professor Joseph Osafo, who is currently the Director of the University of Legon Center for Aging Research, commended the Assin Central lawmaker, saying: “I like his stance when he acknowledged that the system that organized the election was fair.”
He further praised Ken, saying: “Well done. You fought a good fight.”
