The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SES HD PLUS Ghana Ltd, Adelaide Abbiw-Williams has been recognized for her outstanding contribution to the technology sector with the prestigious Technology Leadership Award at the 5u edition of the National Communication Awards. This prestigious honor recognizes her consistent dedication to innovation, leadership and empowerment of women and youth in the Ghanaian media and technology landscape.
As the first female CEO of a multinational satellite platform that innovates the free-to-air satellite TV broadcasting industry in Ghana, she has emerged as a role model for many women.
She is especially excited about young people and women working towards an inclusive future in an ever-growing digital world. He believes that it is imperative to develop and harness the potential of the youth to achieve sustainable development. This is demonstrated through HD+ digital satellite installation trainings, where the skills of more than 10,000 technicians have been updated.
In addition, a special training program for female Ghanaian prison officers was launched in October 2023 at a satellite facility. Adelaide Abbiw-Williams is a passionate advocate for women in leadership and knowledge sharing.
In July 2023, she founded the “LeadHERS” Lean-In Circle as well as her organization’s HD+ LeadHERS Xperience platform to foster collaboration between like-minded women leaders. Her expertise and strategic acumen have been instrumental in shaping Ghana’s technology landscape with the fastest growing High Definition (HD) TV platform with over 200,000 customers through partnerships with key players in the broadcast TV ecosystem.

Adelaide Abbiw-Williams is a seasoned business leader with two decades of experience across sectors including FMCG, manufacturing, telecommunications, mobile financial services and satellite broadcasting.
Prior to her appointment as CEO of SES HD PLUS GH Ltd, Adelaide was the primary marketing liaison between SES and the Ghanaian market where she led the launch of the HD+ brand in Ghana with results that established HD+ as the preferred choice for quality TV viewing experiences in the satellite TV broadcasting industry for free in Ghana.
Adelaide is a member of the Institute of Directors Ghana as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing in both the UK and Ghana. She holds an MBA from Lancaster University, UK and is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast and Wesley Girls High School.
