Cape Verde dominated the first half of the match with a goal from Jamiro Monteiro. However, Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru’s beautiful equalizer was disallowed by the referee after a thorough VAR review.
The first half ended 1:0 against the Black Stars. Ghana’s senior national team came back in the second half of the match with Alex Djiku officially equalizing.
Unfortunately for the Ghanaians, Cape Verdean Gary Rodriguez scored another goal with eight minutes added to the second half.
