The decision was announced at the UK-Rwanda Business Forum in Kigali, with Bboxx planning to train almost 1000 more Rwandans over the next 5 years and invest 100 million dollars in the country.

Bboxx aims to reach 36 million people by 2028 thanks to a $100 million partnership with Kuwait investment company EnerTech, announced in December 2023.
In the 13 years since then, the company has expanded into 11 African markets – including providing electricity to more than 10% of Rwandan households – and has expanded its core products and services from solar to include clean cooking pay -as-you go solutions, water pumps, smartphones and even electric vehicles.
