Ghana’s Ministry of Energy has announced that it will select a supplier to build the country’s first nuclear power plant. end of 2024. The power plant is expected to be operational by 2030.

Ghana is considering a large reactor (1,000-1,200 MW) and a small modular reactor (about 300 MW) for its nuclear power plant, which is to serve as a clean baseload for the country’s industrialization agenda.
