Kwesi Ahoyi, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed regret that his recent comments about John Mahama and his running mate have given the wrong impression.
In a short message of apology to the party and its stakeholders, he said he never intended to pray that His Excellency John Mahama would not complete his four-year term if he wins the 2024 general elections.
He therefore offered an unconditional and unqualified apology to the great NDC leader and common man, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang.
Read his statement below.
I am commenting on my comments at the reception organized by the Church Street Group of NDC believers last Thursday for our esteemed flag bearer, His Excellency John’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang. We noted the unfortunate controversy that resulted. Dramani Mahama.
I sincerely apologize for giving the wrong impression with my comment. Indeed, it was not, and will not be, my intention to pray that His Excellency John Mahama does not complete his four-year term when he wins the 2024 general election.
I admit that I made a mistake on the spot. I accept criticism in good faith, even if some of it stems from intentional misinterpretation of what I have said.
In fact, Prof. Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang, in response to my toast, pointed out the wrong impression created by my remarks and said that His Excellency John Mahama will win the 2024 general elections and serve a four-year term. He declared that he was confident that he would serve his full term. semester.
It’s a shame that what I said seems to have snuffed out what was originally a cheerful and light-hearted occasion.
I hereby extend my unconditional and unreserved apology to the great NDC leader and common man, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang.
Comrades and friends, let us forget this unfortunate incident and unite behind our standard-bearers, visionary nation-builders, to save our beloved country in the December 2024 elections.
Signed.
