New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to provide 2,000 megawatts of solar power, equivalent to half of Ghana’s electricity needs upon coming to power.
He made this commitment during a dialogue with members of the informal sector through a forum organized by the Council of Indigenous Business Associations.
Responding to questions from various bodies associated with the council, the nuclear power plant flag bearer stressed that this will help make electricity affordable for all Ghanaians, leading to lower electricity bills.
He explained that the 2,000 megawatts of solar power generation will contribute to significantly lowering electricity prices, benefiting all citizens.
In addition to the solar energy initiative, Dr Bawumia promised to introduce another scheme aimed at making it easier for the business community and frequent travelers to obtain passports.
He said that with the support of Ghana Card, individuals can apply for a passport, make the necessary payments and receive their passport without stress.
βWe will supply 2000 megawatts of solar power, which is about half of Ghana’s consumption. 2000 megawatts, which will lead to a reduction in electricity bills. You will be able to enjoy it.
