Ayensudo (C/R), April 7, GNA – Nduom School of Business and Technology (NSBT) has graduated its first two batches of students who completed the years 2021 and 2022 at the school’s maiden church and third registration ceremony.
The school produced a total of 25 graduates who attended various degree and diploma programs in the two years, eight of whom completed in 2021 and 17 in 2022.
Two of the graduates graduated with a first class, 12 with a second class upper, nine with a second class lower and two with a third class.
At the same time, the school officially accepted 90 new students to attend various programs.
Degree programs included Bsc. of Banking and Finance, Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology and B.Sc. IT Management for Businesses.
The study programs are Studies Management, Accounting, Information Technology and Banking and Finance.
Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the school’s founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, gifted $1,000 cash as capital to each of the first eight students he started the school with in 2018, fulfilling a promise he had made.
He urged them to invest the money in productive ventures and not waste it.
Dr Nduom maintained that NSBT’s first graduation marked a major milestone in the institution’s determination to deliver quality education in business and technology and said they were on track with their vision to make the school the best in business and technology.
He said the school is dedicated to helping students achieve their life goals through a unique hands-on and positive learning experience.
“The Nduom Group (GN) itself is going from strength to strength, which means our students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while here in the fields of insurance, investment, manufacturing, media, hospitality, banking and others”, it is noted.
He said they were working to ensure that all 25 graduates would be gainfully employed.
“As the first batch of graduates, we ask you to keep us close because we will work with you to ensure that you move on to productive employment and a great life experience,” he assured.
He added that they had established a scholarship fund to continue providing financial assistance to their students and implored the graduates not to give up, regardless of the odds, but to persevere with their talents, truth and discipline to succeed.
He recalled that the inception of NSBT coincided with the devastating COVID-19 pandemic and some challenges of Groupe Nduom, but they managed to cross with determination.
Quoting the school’s motto. “Mpanyindzi, Adom Akyedze, Kandzea” which means “leadership, talent, light”, urged them to be leaders and not followers and also nurture their talents to make them useful in the society.
Professor Daniel Adjepong Nyarko, Chancellor of NSBT, said the school is establishing collaborative relationships with universities abroad, especially in the US, in the spirit of nurturing students to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills necessary for national development and economic development.
He noted that the school had a partnership agreement with the Ivorian Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training under which they had so far trained 197 Ivorian students in English language proficiency.
He said the School placed such a high priority on such partnerships and announced plans to create an international relations office to coordinate all such activities next term.
He advised the graduates to be sincere and dedicated in all their endeavors and urged them to return to school to give back when they succeed.
Dr Emmanuel Newman, the Director of Policy, Planning and Research at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), urged them to make use of their education and never sit at home unemployed.
He said being unemployed was a betrayal of their education and urged them to use the experiences gained in school to get employed solving problems in society.
“It doesn’t matter what you read. if you read history you can start a farm. With your skills, you can bring people together to farm. it doesn’t mean you’re going to do the farming yourself,” he said.
Dr Newman announced that NSBT would soon charter and become a fully fledged university, explaining that the school had all the facilities and resources to function as a university.
“This means we are confident that graduates can perform at the same level as any graduate anywhere in the world,” he added.
