X (formerly known as Twitter) has introduced a feature called “access keys” to iOS users worldwide to improve account security.
Passwords are a more secure alternative to traditional passwords, using public key cryptography for authentication.
This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and using access keys in X using iOS.
Step 1: Sign in to your X account
Start by linking your X account to the iOS app
Step 2: Access your account settings
Navigate to ‘Your account‘. Then select ‘Settings and privacy‘ followed by ‘Account security and access”and finally, ‘Security‘.
Step 3: Enable the password
In accordance with ‘Additional password protection” section, you will find the option for “Anticlavian‘. Click on it and enter your password when prompted.
Step 4: Add a password
Under “Additional password protection“, select “Add a password‘ and follow the on-screen prompts to create your password. Your device will generate a unique key pair for your account, enhancing your security.
Step 5: Use the password
Once the passkey is set up, you can use it to sign in to your X account on different devices without having to remember a password.
Just select the passcode option when signing in and your device will authenticate you securely.
Delete password
If you need to delete your password, the process is similar. Go to “Passkey” in “Security” settings and select “Delete a Passkey”. Enter your password when prompted and confirm the deletion.
Passkeys offer a seamless and secure way to access your X account, reducing the risk of phishing attacks and unauthorized access. By following these steps, you can easily set up and use passwords, ensuring your X experience is convenient and protected.
