Botswana unveiled its transformative Digital Post Office platform called DigiPost as it seeks to modernize the nation’s economic infrastructure.

The platform was revealed by BotswanaPostthe local designated postal operator and innovator in finance, logistics, postal, communications and agency services in the country.
The smart app-based extension enables the integration of independent individuals and small and medium-sized businesses to resell postal services.

With a commitment to promoting financial and digital inclusion, BotswanaPost aims to reach 500,000 people especially for youth and women within three years with PosoMoney and DigiPost offers.
In addition, the envisaged Agency Banking service will benefit from BotswanaPost’s extensive network over 136 post offices and kiosksequipped with over 400 biometric Point of Sale (POS) terminals., ensuring fast and secure transactions in the last mile. The Post Officer’s network of outlets currently facilitates payments for over 100,000 social service grant disbursements on a monthly basis.
Anticipating significant growth, BotswanaPost also predicts over 194,000 new wallet subscribers the fifth year for our mobile money solution – PosoMoney, with an impressive 4 million monthly wallet transactions.
