Liquid C2, the cloud computing arm of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, has expanded its Cloudmania operations in Egypt.
Cloudmania is Liquid C2’s cloud and cyber security distribution business unit and operates in 35 countries in the Middle East and Africa.
The company said Cloudmania’s strategic partnership with Microsoft has enabled it to equip many partners with cloud and cyber security services and solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions, within a fully supported ecosystem.
Liquid C2 Operations Vice President Sherif Shaltout said that Cloudmania’s expansion into Egypt reflects the company’s confidence in the Egyptian economy following the launch of Liquid C2 in Egypt a year ago.
“We see Egypt as the anchor country for our expansion across the Middle East and North Africa and look forward to playing our part in delivering the government’s Egypt Vision 2030 strategy, supported by its Digital Egypt,’β Shaltout explained.
Vinay Hiralall, chief commercial officer of Liquid C2, added that Cloudmania’s growth over the past year from 100 partners to more than 750 shows how the company’s value proposition is resonating with channel partners across the region.
Liquid C2 Recent Offers
Liquid C2’s Cloudmania expansion follows the company’s announcement that it was the first Google Cloud Interconnect provider in Africa in June 2024.
This announcement came after Liquid C2 and Google Cloud signed a strategic partnership at the Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town, South Africa in November 2023.
In March 2023, Liquid C2 also announced partnerships with Google Cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic to deliver advanced cloud and cyber security solutions, as well as generative AI (GenAI) capabilities, to businesses across Africa .
African cloud nodes
Liquid C2’s Cloudmania expansion also comes at a time when many tech companies are setting up cloud hubs on the African continent.
In February, technology company Oracle announced plans to create a public cloud region in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to meet growing demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services across Africa.
Oracle’s announcement came at the same time that Google Cloud unveiled a new cloud region in Johannesburg, South Africa, its first in Africa.
Plans for Google’s cloud region were first announced as part of the tech giant’s second “Google for Africa” ββtech event in October 2022.
Johannesburg is Google’s only cloud region on the African continent and follows global hyperscale companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, which have already invested in major cloud infrastructure and data centers in South Africa.
Microsoft Azure was the first to land data centers in South Africa in March 2019, with one in Johannesburg and another in Cape Town.
AWS then launched the Africa region in Cape Town in April 2020.
