Former President John Mahama has said that if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regains power, his appointees will follow the principle of humility.
He emphasized that if approved, the use of luxury cars, for example, would no longer be allowed within the government.
Mahama is currently touring the Bono East region as part of his “Building Ghana Tour.”
Speaking over the weekend, he stressed that appointees must be ready to fulfill their responsibilities.
“Whoever comes to serve in our government must not be arrogant because you must be accountable to the people who elected you.To the next NDC government I don’t want to see an arrogant person. The people are suffering, so they must be humble.
Mr Mahama explained that respect for truth and the trust of the people will be the hallmarks of his administration.
“You have to be honest. So when you are appointed as a minister, you have been given the public’s trust, so the public will know what you have done and whether you have enough of that public’s trust.” You can ask for an explanation as to whether you failed to maintain the standards, and you can be sanctioned. ”
The NDC flag bearer said he was witnessing the youth of the country losing hope.
Mr Mahama said his government would regain lost hope if voted into office.
“…Unfortunately, many young people look at their lives today and say: I don’t believe in this democracy, I don’t have the opportunity to improve myself, so I don’t even know why. Many young people don’t think that way.” I understand the need to vote, but please, Ghana has a bright future, please don’t lose hope in your country, we can improve the situation. We can turn it around, we will get Ghana in shape, and the only way we can do that is through your vote,” he said.
