Birsa South MP Clement Apark has condemned Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu’s comments on former President John Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal.
Yakub appears in a video questioning the feasibility of the 24-hour economy concept.
He argued that the proposed 24-hour economy would deprive farmers of their marital duties.
Reid also said this.
“Brothers, when we are tired from working on the farm, we must sleep with our wives and be with them. “Will people come and take our wives away? No! We have to be careful about these 24 hours,” he said.
But in response, Mr Apaak described his comments as “stupid and willful ignorance of Dr Bawumia and the nuclear power plant”.
He also questioned what the proposed 24-hour economy has to do with night farming.
“What does a 24-hour economy have to do with night farming and sleeping with your wife at night or not? Would a man in a 24-hour economy not sleep with his wife at night? Even if there is, couples can still manage to do what they need to do,” he said.
Reid also said this.
According to him, the NPP flag bearer and the NPP have nothing to offer Ghanaians and “Ghanaians are stupid enough to give an extension of term to the useless, corrupt and reckless Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government.” Not,” he added.
“No rational person would choose a group of people who have caused them so much pain and suffering while living big as if there was no tomorrow,” he added.
He said the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Nuclear Power Plant government must pay the price for subjecting Ghanaians to intolerable hardship.
Some government officials and incumbent party members have downplayed the idea, saying it is nothing new. Nevertheless, the finance minister snuck the idea into the 2024 budget he submitted to parliament this month.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the new leader of the NPP and its flag bearer for the 2024 election, also ridiculed the initiative, saying the former president was clearly out of ideas.
“Today, Mr. John Mahama says he has new ideas and wants a 24-hour economy, but he doesn’t even understand the policy,” the vice president said.
“Today, our hospitals, power companies, water companies, gas stations, chop bars and many other departments all operate 24 hours a day. Now, thanks to digitalization, we can send and receive money within 24 hours. , he doesn’t understand his policies,” the vice president claimed.
